You’ll be part of a supportive, diverse team committed to compassionate care. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li onsite day nursery /li li cycle-to-work scheme /li li discounts at local businesses and gyms /li li beach hut hire /li li flexible working arrangements /li li opportunity to join a supportive team /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li participate in consultant on-call rota (in hours) and middle-grade rota (out of hours) /li li support colleagues with emergencies and difficult cases /li li supervise less experienced anaesthetists and contribute to decision-making for safety and efficiency /li li undertake minimum 2 GA lists per week and one PAAU clinic per week /li li share on-call duties equitably during the day (062) /li li provide anaesthetic services for a range of surgeries (general, ophthalmic, maxillo-facial, ENT, urological, orthopaedics, gynaecology) /li li obstetric anaesthesia cover in-hours; dedicated specialist for obstetrics out-of-hours /li li involve in ICU activities and potential follow-up and enhanced care developments /li li participate in mentor scheme and contribute to teaching and education /li li engage in annual appraisal and performance review as part of job planning /li li participate in pre-assessment and daily consultant anaesthetic clinic discussions /li li contribute to critical care outreach and multidisciplinary ward rounds /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Full GMC registration and licence to practise by date of appointment /li li entry on GMC specialist register or within six months of obtaining CCT /li li Fellowship of the RCoA or equivalent /li li minimum 12 years medical work experience with at least 6 years in a relevant specialty (Speciality Doctor/closed SAS) or equivalent from overseas /li li high level of anaesthetic competence and ability to take independent responsibility for patient care /li li broad exposure to GA including paediatrics, obstetrics and ICU; perioperative medicine understanding /li li post-CCT experience in anaesthesia and regional techniques advantageous /li /ul ul li leadership and people management /li li teaching and training commitment /li li strong communication and teamwork /li li broad exposure to general anaesthesia (paediatrics, obstetrics, ICU) /li li regional anaesthesia techniques, especially upper limb blocks /li li ultrasound-guided nerve/plexus blockade /li /ul
