A Salaried GP position is available up to full time, with a minimum of 3 sessions a week required, including 2 on Wednesdays. We are looking for motivated and committed team players to join our friendly and supportive team of GPs in Faversham, Kent. We support GPs in their special interests and are actively involved in training. A course and experience in minor surgery is desirable. Previous experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is beneficial but not essential. Tier 2 sponsorship is available.

Main duties of the job include managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Duties include:
- Two Clinical Sessions a day
- On Call responsibilities on a rota basis
- Home Visits
- Clinical Administration
The number of patients will be calculated using the total number of patients on Newton Place Surgery's and Faversham Medical Practice's patient lists divided by the total number of sessions being worked by the Salaried GPs and GP Partners. This number may change from time to time.

Faversham Medical Group consists of 2 GP surgeries; Faversham Medical Practice and Newton Place Surgery. We also run an Urgent Treatment Centre based at Faversham Health Centre. Faversham is a beautiful, historic market town close to Canterbury, just 60 miles from London and within easy reach of attractive coastline areas and beaches.
Job responsibilities include:
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients
- Providing counselling and health education
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary
Other responsibilities include compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, a commitment to life-long learning, and contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
Confidentiality is paramount, and the post-holder will have access to sensitive information that must be treated with respect and confidentiality.
Health & Safety responsibilities include implementing and leading on health and safety and infection control procedures, ensuring compliance with national standards, and managing risks associated with work activities.
Safeguarding responsibilities include promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and ensuring safeguarding training is up to date.
The post-holder will support equality, diversity, and rights of patients, carers, and colleagues, and will participate in personal/professional development through continued education and training.
Quality maintenance within the practice is essential, and the post-holder will strive to assess performance and contribute to team effectiveness.
Effective communication with team members, patients, and carers is crucial, as well as participation in the implementation of services and audits.
Qualifications required include being GP registered with the GMC, listed on the Performers List, and evidence of continuing professional development.
