Responsibilities
- Lead the Speech, Language and Communication pathway across CFHD
- Provide professional and clinical leadership to SLTs within CFHD pathways
- Collaborate with health, education, social care and voluntary sector partners for integrated care
- Support onboarding and development initiatives (e. g., Experts at Hand) and supervise other leaders
- Work with Head of Service and Clinical Director to shape future service direction
- Promote quality, safety, and governance across services
- Foster a culture of co-production with children, families, and carers
- Oversee recruitment, supervision, and performance management within clinical teams
- Utilise data and outcome measures to drive service improvements
- Act as a role model for evidence‑based practice and professional standards
- Key requirements
- Professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy; current professional registration
- Postgraduate Diploma level specialist training or equivalent (or master’s level)
- Extensive knowledge of NHS services for children and families; experience of safeguarding and governance
- Clinical leadership experience and track record of supervising teams
- Experience in service development, quality improvement and multi‑agency collaboration
- Strong communication and partnership-building skills; commitment to reducing inequalities
- Experience in using data to improve services and in implementing policy/strategy
