Devons Wellbeing Service is transforming how we support children and families and we're looking for a Clinical Team Manager to join us on this journey. You will manage a team of multi-disciplinary practitioners providing assessment, treatment and consultation to children and those supporting and caring for them.

This is an opportunity to be part of a service that is restorative, relational, and trauma-informed, working alongside a passionate multi-disciplinary team. You'll manage clinical practitioners across Devon, ensuring that children and young people receive the right support at the right time whether they're on the edge of care, returning home, in care, or leaving care.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide effective collaborative leadership and day-to-day operational management of the clinical team.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of evidence-based clinical care including triage, assessment, clinical formulation and care planning, treatment, and discharge of children and young people.
  • Ensure the service is delivered in partnership with children, young people and their parents/carers, ensuring their active participation is facilitated and feedback elicited, considered and acted upon.
  • In partnership with the Clinical Lead, ensure that clinical and non-clinical risks within the pathway are identified and managed effectively.
  • Maintain systems designed to monitor demand and maintain optimal capacity within the team.
  • Ensure data is captured and used to drive effective service delivery and improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders (professional, clinical and operational), to maintain a culture within the service of excellence in clinical standards and safety.
  • Work with other Team Managers across children's services to ensure the clinical pathway is delivered as part of an integrated system of care, to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Provide supervision, operational management and support to clinicians with the ability to demonstrate compassionate leadership.
  • Attend, participate and chair relevant meetings with the ability to present information in a range of formats, adapting communication to meet the needs of others.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Lead and Wellbeing Team Managers as required.

Person Specification:

  • Management of People: Leadership experience, evidence of partnership working, ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Qualifications: A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent e.g. Psychological profession, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent. Additional specialist training and qualification to post graduate diploma level or equivalent in supervision and/or leadership skills.
  • Experience: Understanding and experience of safeguarding, experience of managing and supervising individuals, clear understanding of the needs of Children/Young People and their families.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
