In this MHST Team Lead role, you will provide both clinical and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based mental health support for children and young people in schools and education settings. You will shape service delivery, support staff development, and ensure timely access to effective mental health interventions. You will work with health, education, and wellbeing partners to drive clinical excellence and improved outcomes for families and schools. This is a chance to lead service improvement while remaining closely aligned with the Trust’s values and standards. You will operate across Mid Essex, requiring travel to multiple locations and schools.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and support MHST staff to provide safe, effective care
- Oversee day-to-day management, performance, and governance of the service
- Deliver specialist assessments, consultation, and therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and families
- Support delivery of MHST interventions (guided self-help, group programmes, workshops, Whole School Approach)
- Monitor quality, safety, outcomes, and compliance with Trust, CQC, and NICE standards
- Build partnerships with schools, CAMHS, social care, and community services
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, audits, and workforce development
- Promote a positive team culture and model Trust values and behaviours
Key requirements
- Post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner or graduate qualified health care professional, fully registered with the appropriate professional body (e.g. HCPC, NMC)
- Clinical and operational leadership experience
