Overview

In this role you will provide professional leadership and expert oversight of the CYPCC team to deliver high-quality Children and Young People Continuing Care services. You will collaborate with health, social care, education and provider partners to secure optimal outcomes, oversee complex cases and budgets, and drive service improvement. You will support the Head of Nursing - AACC as needed and help transition services in line with NHS strategies. Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist leadership for CCC and lead complex care package oversight
  • Oversee assessments, eligibility decisions and multidisciplinary panels
  • Manage complex care and commissioned packages with quality and value for money
  • Lead reviews of high-cost placements and support case management
  • Commission services to meet children’s needs, identify gaps, and contribute to procurement and strategic planning
  • Coordinate care with health, social care, education and providers; represent ICB in multi-agency meetings
  • Ensure safeguarding, quality, governance, performance monitoring and complaints handling
  • Lead transition planning to Adult Continuing Healthcare and timely assessments
  • Manage AACC budgets and contribute to financial and performance reporting
  • Lead service improvement initiatives using data and best practices
  • Line manage CYPCC staff including recruitment, appraisal, development
  • Support staff through ICB transition and collaboration with system partners
  • Maintain focus on quality, safety and affordability during transition

Key requirements

  • Subject matter expertise in CYPCC
  • Senior-level experience in a healthcare environment (NHS or other)
  • Experience leading projects with collective decision-making
  • Understanding of corporate governance and decision-making routes within the ICB
  • Experience with data analysis, Population Health Management and translating data into insights
  • Strong communication skills for senior leadership and diverse audiences
  • Experience managing sensitive information and complex confidentiality
  • Experience delivering change and transformation projects
  • Registered professional qualification and current UK registration (RSCN)
  • Masters level education or equivalent managerial experience
  • Ability to build and maintain high-functioning teams and promote diversity and inclusion
  • Experience with cross-organisational collaboration and whole-system working
