b Overview /b p In this Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist role you will deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging across a large, evolving radiology service. You will help grow advanced cardiothoracic imaging, with a focus on cardiac MRI, and contribute to service development and accreditation efforts. You’ll work within a collaborative trust-wide team to shape imaging pathways, lead audit and education, and support both acute and community diagnostic settings. This is a chance to develop specialization while advancing patient care at scale. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Deliver a high-quality diagnostic radiology service /li li Contribute to the development of general and specialist imaging services /li li Collaborate with colleagues to manage emergencies and inpatient care /li li Share on-call duties for diagnostic radiology /li li Participate in MDT meetings /li li Maintain standards via audit, research, and appraisal /li li Contribute to training of junior doctors and undergraduates /li li Support professional development aligned with RC Rad and GMC requirements /li li Introduce new techniques with appropriate training and evaluation /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li MBBS or Equivalent /li li entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry or within six months of CCT at interview /li li formal subspecialty training and cardiothoracic imaging fellowship with cardiac MRI /li li Desirable: Level 3 accreditation/certification; Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT /li li Expertise in performing and reporting cardiac MRI and CT /li li Experience in thoracic diagnostic CT /li li Ability to take full independent clinical responsibility and provide expert opinions in cardiothoracic imaging /li li Desirable: CT-guided thoracic intervention; simple interventional procedures (biopsy and drainage) /li /ul ul li collaboration /li li teaching/mentoring /li li clinical leadership /li li cardiac MRI /li li cardiac CT /li li thoracic diagnostic CT /li /ul
