Overview
In this role you will join the Mental Health and Wellness Team to deliver expert psychological input within Barking & Dagenham services. You will work alongside a diverse group of psychologists, prioritising trauma-informed care and co-design with service users, peers, and third-sector partners. The post emphasizes integrated working with care coordinators to deliver secondary care services and meaningful pathways. You’ll help shape trauma-focused interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to improve population outcomes. This is a hands-on, on-site role with a clear impact on service design and delivery.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological assessments using complex information
- Conduct risk assessment and advise on risk management for professionals
- Formulate evidence-based treatment plans based on current knowledge
- Make evaluations considering multifactorial historical/developmental factors
- Involve service users and carers in planning and delivery of care
- Deliver psychological interventions for complex/severe mental health problems
- Ensure interventions align with evidence-based practice
- Collaborate with MDT colleagues to tailor care and treatment
Key requirements
- Experience in delivering trauma-specific therapies
- Strong risk assessment and management capabilities
- Ability to formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams (MDT)
- Commitment to service user and carer involvement in care planning
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge of psychological models
- Willingness to work on-site at Barking Community Hospital (at least four days a week)
