b Overview /b p In this role you will lead the operational engineering function for Electrical and Mechanical services at Royal Preston Hospital, supporting a large NHS estate. You will manage specialist systems and contractors, ensuring compliance with NHS guidance and statutory requirements in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will balance hands-on supervision with strategic planning, budgeting and on-call responsibilities to maintain critical facilities. This position offers opportunities to shape maintenance programmes and asset management in a patient‑centred trust. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li development opportunities /li li on-call payments /li li staff support in hospital environment /li li competitive salary within Band 7 /li li opportunity to influence patient care through infrastructure /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Manage the operational engineering department including Electrical/Mechanical/Decontamination services /li li Ensure compliance with NHS HTMs/HBNs, British Standards, Building Regulations /li li Act as Authorised Person for specialist services and oversee service interruptions and safety procedures /li li Prepare reports for Trust Board and senior management /li li Develop contingency and emergency plans for engineering services /li li Oversee design, upgrades and modifications using Tender/Quotation procedures /li li Budget holder for the department including procurement and invoicing /li li Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programmes and asset register /li li Lead and motivate engineering teams to deliver efficient, responsive service across the Trust /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree in Engineering or equivalent healthcare engineering experience /li li Fully conversant with statutory requirements, NHS Estates guidance and regulatory codes /li li Significant experience managing complex building services in a large organisation /li li Desirable: AP Ventilation/decontamination /li li Experience with budget control, procurement processes, and project management /li /ul ul li commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism /li li self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team /li li leadership and people management /li li Electrical and mechanical building services /li li Authorised Person responsibilities for specialist services /li li Risk assessments, Method statements, Permit to Work systems /li /ul
