We are seeking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic GP to join our dynamic team at The Bincote Surgery for up to six sessions per week, with a competitive sessional rate, dependent on experience.

Bincote Surgery is a friendly, well-established PMS practice located in the leafy suburb of Oakwood/Winchmore Hill, North London, with excellent transport links and access to outstanding local schools. We serve approximately 6,800 patients and are part of Enfield South West Primary Care Network, West & North London ICB, and actively involved with Enfield GP Federation.

Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, a Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, Pharmacists, Care Coordinators, Social Prescribers and Paramedics, providing high-quality, patient-centred care. We benefit from excellent IT systems, including EMIS Web, EPS, Docman 10, eRS, Accurx, ICE/TQuest and electronic links with Barnet, Chase Farm and North Middlesex Hospitals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care for patients presenting with undifferentiated illness.
  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone and video consultations as appropriate.
  • Diagnose, investigate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with local and national prescribing guidance.
  • Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention and lifestyle advice.
  • Participate in safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in accordance with practice policies.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and legally compliant clinical records.
  • Contribute to practice audits, quality improvement initiatives and service development.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, pharmacists, physician associates, care coordinators, social prescribers and administrative staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of practice policies and clinical protocols in accordance with WNL ICB and Enfield GP Federation on the Long Term Conditions program model of care.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold a licence to practise.
  • Remain on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
  • Undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain clinical competence.
  • Comply with GMC Good Medical Practice guidance.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with GDPR, NHS policies and Caldicott Principles.
  • Participate in mandatory training.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.
  • Membership of the NHS England Medical Performers List.
  • MRCGP qualification (or equivalent).
  • Completion of UK GP Specialty Training (CCT) or equivalent recognised GP qualification.
  • Evidence of satisfactory participation in GP appraisal and revalidation requirements.
  • Current professional indemnity arrangements appropriate to the role.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training relevant to General Practice (including safeguarding and infection prevention, where applicable).

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous NHS General Practice experience.
  • Experience in a training or teaching environment.
  • Clinical leadership or service improvement experience.
  • Additional clinical skills or special interests.
  • Experience with QOF, audits and clinical governance.
  • Familiarity with EMIS clinical system.
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary working and ongoing development.
