Overview

In this role you will support Document Management Processing and undertake medical coding of clinical correspondence into the practice system. You will work across Mereside Medical Group’s multi-site set-up to convert paper records and hospital communications into structured electronic data. You’ll contribute to safeguarding, information governance, and efficient patient care processes within a clinically focused, patient-centred environment.

Responsibilities

  • Summarise and code information from patients’ paper records into the electronic patient record
  • Extract data from clinical correspondence and input into the electronic record
  • Check QoF data requirements and code accordingly
  • File hospital referrals and other relevant correspondence into patient notes
  • Direct tasks to the Clinical Admin Team in a timely manner
  • Process new Mother & Baby letters for the Perinatal Team
  • Record and code safeguarding and domestic violence reports
  • Code new clinical records as they arrive
  • Manage SystmOne tasks (summary care records, GP2GP, letters, death protocol)
  • Administer screening programs (Diabetic Eye, Breast, Cervical, Bowel) and cervical cytology systems
  • Allocate GP admin tasks and pathology results
  • Process Lloyd George notes for new patients
  • Handle confidentiality and information security in line with policies
