General Practitioner in Eastbourne

Dr Writer and Partners are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive practice in Eastbourne. Full-time or part-time applications will be considered.

As a Salaried GP, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a forward-thinking practice. The role offers an excellent mix of traditional face-to-face general practice alongside digital-first care through our dedicated Digital Triage Hub.

You will work collaboratively with GP Partners and our wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and timely patient care, while contributing to quality improvement, service development and the continued evolution of primary care within our practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who enjoys a varied clinical workload and wishes to work in a supportive environment where innovation, teamwork and continuous improvement are valued. There are also opportunities to contribute to GP education, clinical supervision and the development of the wider primary care workforce.

Main duties of the job:

• The successful applicant will provide high-quality, safe and effective primary medical services to registered patients across our practice.
• The role includes a varied clinical workload comprising:
• Digital triage and remote consultation
• Face-to-face surgery clinics
• Telephone consultations
• Home visits
• Clinical administration and follow-up

We are a well-established GMS practice providing care for approximately 13,500 patients in Eastbourne. Our experienced multidisciplinary team includes:

• 7 GP Partners
• 5 Salaried GPs
• 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner
• 1 trainee ACP
• 1 Nurse Prescriber
• 2 Paramedic Practitioners
• 4 Practice Nurses
• 1 Assistant Practitioner
• 2 Healthcare Assistants
• 1 Phlebotomist

These clinicians are supported by an experienced and dedicated management and administrative team committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are currently rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Please note that we do not employ staff who are registered as patients at the practice. Any offer of employment will therefore be conditional upon registration with another GP practice.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

• Essential: Qualified General Practitioner.
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
• Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
• Current GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation.
• Eligibility to work independently within the UK.

Experience:

• Essential: Experience of working within UK general practice.
• Experience of assessing, diagnosing and managing a broad range of acute and chronic conditions.
• Experience of working with electronic clinical record systems, including EMIS Web or equivalent.
• Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Desirable: Experience of digital triage or same-day access models.
• Interest in clinical leadership, quality improvement or service development.
• Experience of supervising or supporting other healthcare professionals.
• An interest in medical education or workforce development.
