Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant within our Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Service, you'll support clinicians in delivering safe, effective and compassionate women's health care across a number of community clinic locations throughout Dorset. You'll help prepare clinics, support patients before, during and after their appointments, undertake delegated clinical duties within your competencies, maintain accurate patient records and ensure clinical environments are safe, clean and fully equipped. You'll also work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide an excellent patient experience while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop specialist skills in women's health, work across multiple clinic locations and play an important part in improving access to high-quality contraceptive services within the local community. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to broaden their clinical experience and develop their career within a supportive NHS organisation.

Essential Criteria
- Healthcare Assistant qualification and/or relevant clinical experience.
- Experience working within a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and information governance.
- Good IT skills.
- Ability to travel between clinic locations across Dorset.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within women's health, sexual health, primary care or community healthcare.
- Experience using EMIS.
- Experience supporting minor procedures.
- Chaperone training.
- Experience undertaking clinical observations.
