In this role you will join the Finance Senior Leadership Team to steer the Trust's financial planning, reporting and performance management. You will shape the long-term financial model, annual plan and budget-setting process, and provide trusted advice to senior leaders. You will lead high-performing finance teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure resources deliver maximum benefit for patients. You will collaborate with clinical, operational, workforce and finance colleagues and influence key decisions at Board and executive level. This is a values-led, senior role at LTHT, offering impact across a large NHS teaching hospital.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Trust’s Financial Planning and Reporting team and provide leadership to senior finance colleagues.
- Shape and maintain the Trust’s long-term financial model, annual financial plan and budget-setting process.
- Lead high-quality monthly and annual financial reporting, including information presented to the Board, Trust committees, executive leaders and external organisations.
- Provide authoritative, impartial advice on budgets, business cases, financial performance, organisational risk and major service changes.
- Strengthen financial benchmarking, business intelligence and insight into productivity and efficiency opportunities.
- Interpret national policy, guidance and legislation, assessing the implications for the Trust and supporting effective implementation.
- Work closely with clinical, operational, workforce and finance leaders across the Trust and with partners across West Yorkshire.
- Deputise for the Deputy Chief Finance Officer where appropriate.
- Create an inclusive, empowered and continuously improving finance function in which colleagues can thrive and develop.
