We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Head of Nursing to join our Specialty & Integrated Medicine CSU. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nursing leader to influence care across a large and diverse portfolio of services, working as part of the CSU senior leadership team to deliver high-quality, safe and compassionate care.
You will provide visible professional leadership, support the development of our nursing workforce, drive quality improvement, lead service transformation and contribute to strategic decision-making across the organisation. We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative and values-driven leader who is passionate about developing people, improving patient outcomes and shaping the future of nursing.
The Deputy Head of Nursing will provide professional, operational and strategic leadership across the Clinical Service Unit, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality and compassionate patient care. Working as part of the CSU leadership team, the post holder will lead and support nursing teams to achieve excellence in patient experience, quality, safety and workforce performance. Responsibilities include:
- Line management of senior nursing leaders
- Ensuring safe staffing
- Leading quality improvement initiatives
- Overseeing governance, risk and patient safety agendas
- Supporting the delivery of organisational priorities
The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, patients and external partners to drive service transformation and innovation. The post holder will contribute to workforce development, financial management, performance improvement and service planning, while providing visible and inspirational leadership that empowers staff and promotes a positive culture aligned to The Leeds Way values. This role also deputises for the Head of Nursing as required.
