Overview
Experienced midwife to join the perinatal leadership team as Perinatal Compliance and Assurance Manager. You will translate national standards into practical action, ensure robust evidence and provide clear assurance to the Trust Board, regulators and system partners. You will work with the frontline perinatal MDT and collaborate with the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board. You will line manage a small team, contribute to policy and training, and participate in the on-call rota. The role involves advancing compliance with schemes and inspection frameworks to support safe, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert direction to the frontline perinatal MDT on meeting national standards and inquiry recommendations
- Support the Divisional Management Team and the Trust Head of CQC Quality and Compliance with regulatory assurance
- Chair working groups and contribute to departmental and divisional meetings
- Monitor quality indicators and keep improvement plans on track
- Develop policies and strategy for compliance and assurance
- Line-manage a small team and contribute to maternity training
- Participate in the Midwifery Managers on-call rota
Key requirements
- Master's level education or equivalent senior-level experience in clinical governance, compliance or assurance within NHS maternity/neonatal services
- Registered Midwife
- Evidence of CPD
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently and prioritise workload
- Credible presence with frontline teams and external partners
- Able to compile, analyse and report on complex data
- Knowledge of Maternity Incentive Scheme
- Knowledge of CQC assessment framework
