As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can perform their jobs effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.
You can expect plenty of variety in this role. You'll handle various tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds, such as fixing minor issues or planting bulbs. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. Liaising with contractors for tasks outside the team's expertise is also required.
The wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority. All work must be carried out with sensitivity to their needs. Candidates should have hands-on experience in property maintenance, at least one trade skill, reliability, flexibility in working hours, a full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
