Overview
In this role you lead procurement activities within NWSSP’s Aneurin Bevan local team to deliver value-based, patient-centred procurement solutions. You will apply commercial acumen to navigate complex NHS environments and drive savings and innovative solutions. The role supports agile, collaborative ways of working and may involve Welsh/English communications. You will contribute to improving patient care through effective procurement and e-strategy adoption.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver complex procurements in line with revenue and capital plans
- Coordinate costings and purchases across projects to achieve savings and KPI targets
- Develop relationships and establish consensus with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive adoption of e-strategies, e-tendering, auctions and catalogue management
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks through sound analytical reasoning
- Support continuous improvement and change management within the Health Board
- Ensure compliance with legal, probity and NHS procurement requirements
- Manage project planning and ensure deadlines are met
Key requirements
- Essential expertise in EU procurement and contract management
- Proven experience in project planning and delivering costings on time and on budget
- Track record of obtaining savings and key business indicators
- Experience in people management and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of health board procurement processes and NHS roles
- Desirable knowledge of EFQM/Quality standards, ISO policies and category management
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex/high-value procurements and ensure compliance
- MCIPs accreditation
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to engage, motivate and influence others beyond formal management
- e-tendering and e-strategy knowledge
- Catalogue management
- IT proficiency with spreadsheets/databases/web research
