Overview
In this role you will provide specialist psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment to adults within the Crawley Neighbourhood Mental Health team. You will supervise trainees and support non-medical staff, while also fulfilling Responsible Clinician duties for patients under Community Treatment Orders. You will conduct Mental Health Act assessments and collaborate with inpatient and forensic services to manage risk. The post supports ongoing transformation and service development within a multidisciplinary community setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialist medical/psychiatric assessment and evidence-based treatment to referred patients
- Provide clinical supervision to trainees and informal supervision to non-medical team members
- Fulfil Responsible Clinician duties for patients under Community Treatment Orders, including attendance at Managers Hearings and Tribunals
- Conduct Mental Health Act assessments for team caseload
- Liaise with inpatient Responsible Clinicians
- Liaise with forensic, drug and alcohol services, and risk panel as required
Key requirements
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warnings/conditions on practice
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Holds a valid UK driving licence or provides evidence of proposed alternative
- Excellent knowledge in specialty and wide medical knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication in English
- Desirable: wide range of specialist/sub-specialist NHS experience
