Job summaryCARDIFF AND VALE NHS TRUSTCONSULTANT IN GENERAL ANAESTHESIA AND CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENTApplications are invited for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join a rapidly expanding anaesthetic department working across the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough sites in Cardiff.Sessions are available in a variety of surgical disciplines including General, Vascular, Neuro, Urology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Head & Neck, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Breast, Thrombectomy and Gynaecological Surgery.Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University's Wales College of Medicine will be expected. The Anaesthetic Department has a very active ongoing academic research programme.Cardiff and Vale Health Board is one of the largest in the UK and is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.Applicants should be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthetics or be within 6 months of award of a CCT at the time of interview.You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The salary range for this post is 114, 099 to 166,585 per annum.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will have a primary role within the Chronic Pain Service alongside the wider general anaesthetic work of the Department.
