Overview
In this role you will join a large oncology team and provide consultant-led care across site-specific MDTs for Head and Neck cancers at UHCW and Breast cancers at SWUFT. You will manage a steady caseload, support acute oncology and in-patient care, and contribute to service development and clinical trials. The position offers collaboration with a broad multidisciplinary team and access to modern facilities, with a focus on high-quality, research-informed cancer care. This is a chance to shape oncology services within a leading NHS trust.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing clinical responsibility for patients under your care
- Deliver a consultative/advisory service to colleagues and primary care
- Develop and implement treatment protocols and guidelines in collaboration with specialists
- Attend and support site-specific MDTs and integrate with the multidisciplinary care team including surgeons, oncologists, nursing staff, therapists, dieticians, social workers, palliative care and psychology services
Key requirements
- Completed Higher Specialist Training in Clinical Oncology
- Awareness of NHS and UK higher education issues
- Advanced communication skills
- Experience of teaching at postgraduate levels
- Management of Breast and Head & Neck cancer
