In this role you will join the Specialist Adult Mental Health Service in Lewes, contributing to a neighbourhood model that blends specialist care with primary and community partners. You will balance direct clinical work with professional activities, supporting service development and the rollout of new ways of working and digital records. Responsibilities
- Work 10 programmed activities over 5 days (7.5 direct clinical care, 2.5 supporting professional activities)
- Collaborate with GPs, East Sussex Wellbeing, third sector, and local partners to deliver right care in the right place
- Contribute to implementing New Ways of Working for psychiatrists and upcoming NHSE post-CPA recommendations
- Engage with the new Electronic Patient Record system and related service improvements
- Participate in job planning and annual objective setting with the team
Key requirements
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Fully GMC registered with licence to practice
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months
- Valid UK driving licence or alternative evidence of mobility
- Excellent knowledge in psychiatry with wide medical knowledge
- Strong English communication skills
- Willingness to deliver undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and training
- Ability to work in and lead a team and participate in CPD and clinical audit
