b Overview /b p As a Consultant Paediatrician with a cardiology focus, you will lead high-quality clinical care for children with cardiovascular needs across NLAG sites. You will mentor junior doctors and medical students, align practice with Trust policies, and contribute to cross-site emergency and neonatal services. This role sits within a regionally connected network, offering opportunities to influence training and neonatal–cardiology pathways. You will shape the service in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient care. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Provide high-standard clinical services to paediatric patients with cardiovascular needs /li li Lead and mentor junior doctors and medical students /li li Deliver care in line with Trust procedures and service plans /li li Collaborate with cross-site colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams /li li Support organizational training needs analysis and education of health professionals /li li Contribute to regional cardiac network activities and neonatal pathways /li li Participate in safeguarding and continuous service improvement /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li MBBS or equivalent /li li MRCPCH by examination or appropriate specialist qualification /li li Full GMC registration and license to practice /li li Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within six months of CCT /li li Successful completion of RCPCH SPIN Module in cardiology or equivalent experience /li li Desirable: MD or post-graduate qualification; Certification in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography (EACVI) /li li Essential: Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across paediatric conditions; ability to take full responsibility for care; ability to prioritize and organize work; willingness to lead multi-disciplinary teams /li /ul ul li leadership /li li critical thinking /li li effective communication /li li Echocardiography in congenital heart disease (EACVI) /li li Cardiology expertise in paediatrics and neonatal care /li li Knowledge of PACS and image transfer workflows /li /ul
