The post is suitable for candidates on the specialist register with a qualification in Medical Microbiology, consultants dual accredited in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases or Consultant Clinical Scientists who have completed a training programme in Medical Microbiology.Main duties of the jobWe are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our experienced and supportive team for providing a comprehensive clinical microbiology and infection advice service to the acute trust and community. This is a replacement post within the Department of Microbiology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The LTHT Microbiology Department is now one of the largest in the UK, processing ~1 million specimens per year. Microbiology Department is a discrete laboratory and clinical service that sits within the Pathology Clinical Services Unit (CSU). The Department is fully accredited to ISO 15189 standards. We are accredited for higher professional training by the Royal College of Pathologists. The Department participates fully in NEQAS and has an internal quality assessment scheme.
