b Overview /b p In this role you will provide expert psychiatric care for older adults within a community team, supported by a multidisciplinary service. You will lead assessments, diagnoses and treatment planning in the community, and collaborate closely with teams to ensure seamless care transitions. The post offers a stable, part-time arrangement with opportunities for teaching, research and management involvement, across urban, rural and coastal catchments. You will drive service development and maintain a strong focus on patient-centred care and consultant wellbeing. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Flexible working options /li li NHS pension scheme /li li Generous annual leave /li li Career development focus /li li Study leave and expenses support (up to 30 days every 3 years) /li li Blue Light Card and NHS perks /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Assess, diagnose and treat mental health needs in the community setting /li li Provide multidisciplinary collaboration and case-based input to team meetings /li li Act as Responsible Clinician for CTOs under Mental Health Act /li li Undertake MHA assessments as the Section 12 doctor (including S136 patients) /li li Provide Mental Capacity Act s49 reports for community patients /li li Provide clinical leadership locally and across the Trust /li li Coordinate with inpatient teams for smooth patient transitions /li li Contribute to service development and improvements in care quality /li li Participate in peer supervision and case-based discussions /li li Fulfil duties in the job plan and comply with Trust policies /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Mental Health Act Approved Clinician / Section 12 approval or willingness to apply /li li Full GMC registration with licence to practice /li li Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligible via CCT/CESR within 6 months /li li MRCPsych (Desirable) /li li Experience in older peoples community psychiatry and leadership/management development (Desirable) /li li 3 years supervised training in ST4-6 or equivalent with relevant experience /li li Understanding of mental health and mental capacity legislation in community care /li li Disclosure and Barring Service check requirements /li li UK Registration in good standing /li /ul ul li leadership and clinical governance /li li multidisciplinary collaboration /li li effective communication and team involvement /li li Mental Health Act procedures (CTO, Section 12) /li li MHA assessments (Section 12) and S136 management /li li Mental Capacity Act applications and s49 reports /li /ul
