Overview
You join the Acute Medicine department to lead high-quality, safe care for acutely ill medical patients across AAU, Short Stay, and Ambulatory Care. You will contribute to clinical governance, teaching, and CPD while shaping evidence-based practice. The role includes potential cross-site work, a focus on clinical leadership, and involvement in implementing Urgent Care changes and SDEC planning. You will work within a supportive senior leadership community to drive improvements and ensure excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, safe, compassionate care for acutely ill medical patients
- Participate in clinical governance activities: audit, mortality review, appraisal
- Ensure accurate data collection and compliance with information governance
- Teach, supervise, and support doctors, nurses, and students
- Maintain CPD records and engage in annual revalidation processes
- Lead activities defined in the job plan to help meet departmental and Trust goals
- Develop and promote departmental clinical guidelines aligned with best practice
Key requirements
- MRCP(UK) with CCT or eligibility for Specialist Register, or equivalent
- MBBS (or equivalent) and full GMC registration
- Completed training in General or Acute Medicine
- Ability to deliver expert clinical opinion across adult acute medicine
- Calm under pressure and strong workload prioritization
