Overview
In this role you drive internal and external communications and marketing to engage staff, patients and the public. You will manage campaigns, digital channels, media activity and events to support CityCare’s Vision and system partnerships. You’ll write and edit accessible content, provide communications guidance to senior colleagues, and act as a brand ambassador in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position offers hybrid working with cross-team impact across the NHS community health network.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver internal and external communications and engagement aligned with CityCare priorities
- Create and edit content for newsletters, websites, intranet, social media, publications and media releases
- Manage digital channels and analyse data to improve reach and engagement
- Provide communications advice to services and senior colleagues; support media inquiries; protect brand
- Lead or support corporate events (staff awards, roadshows, briefings) and work with health system partners
- Develop targeted service communications plans; ensure timely, accurate messages across channels
- Oversee publications, bulletins and brand stewardship; act as a communications and brand guardian
- Evaluate channel effectiveness and adapt strategies; handle sensitive information per data protection rules
- Internal communications: newsletters, staff intranet, engagement activities; collaborate with Organisational Development
- Lead annual internal campaigns (Staff Survey, Norovirus, Flu, staff recognition)
- Produce multimedia content (films, case studies, blogs, podcasts) and manage external media relations
- Manage external relations and media planning; respond to media inquiries; incident communications
- Organise corporate events; train managers in communications and engagement
- Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in communications and events
Key requirements
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Excellent digital capability and experience with content management systems
- Confident stakeholder management and media handling
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Experience in communications, PR, marketing or engagement in a fast-paced environment
- Data-driven mindset; ability to develop internal KPIs and evaluate campaigns
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Experience with media relations and handling inquiries
- Flexibility for hybrid work, occasional evenings/weekends and travel between locations
