Overview
In this role you will oversee cancer pathway performance across the Trust, translating data into actionable oversight and improvement. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to identify barriers and drive timely diagnosis and treatment, including alignment with national waiting time standards. A key focus is transforming performance reporting into operational action, supported by ESNEFT’s digital transformation with Epic. You will contribute to a patient-centered culture that Time Matters and supports staff through development opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, interpretation and presentation of cancer performance information for Trust performance and governance forums, highlighting trends, risks and required actions.
- Provide operational leadership for cancer performance in collaboration with specialty teams, diagnostic services and corporate colleagues to remove barriers to timely care.
- Maintain oversight of patients on cancer pathways, focusing on those at risk of delay and ensuring escalation and action.
- Develop and maintain cancer performance management processes to translate information into action rather than just reporting.
Key requirements
- Relevant degree or equivalent
- Management / leadership qualification or equivalent knowledge at postgraduate level
- Experience in a management/leadership role
- Experience in managing/leading a team
- Responsibility for a budget
- Understanding of the NHS and current agenda
