Overview

In this role you lead clinical quality and workforce development for PUPoC and Appeals, embedding improvement culture and ensuring robust service delivery under NHS guidance. You will collaborate with the Head of Clinical Operations to mobilise new contracts, mentor the team, and safeguard service users while upholding clinical standards. The position focuses on delivering value through quality programmes and cross-functional support to sustain and grow PUPoC/Appeals contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure legislation is followed in service delivery
  • Understand contract finances and operate within constraints while maintaining safety and quality
  • Lead quality improvement programmes and oversee sign-off processes
  • Provide high-level overview of NHS CHC, NHS FNC, PUPOC legislation
  • Perform complex clinical triage across PUPoC-Appeals and identify risks with action plans
  • Draft outcome letters on eligibility with supporting evidence (DST, Four Key Characteristics)
  • Attend mobilisation meetings with clinical risk and delivery support
  • Lead mobilisation of new PUPoC and Appeals contracts
  • Support recruitment of Clinicians for Retro/Appeals including interviews and supervision
  • Lead clinical development of the Clinical Team and admin support
  • Safeguard service users through systematic processes, reporting and monitoring
  • Manage incidents and complaints via internal systems
  • Maintain awareness of updated NHS Continuing Healthcare guidance relevant to Retro/Appeals

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in NHS Continuing Healthcare with substantial leadership in PUPoC and Appeals
  • Registered Health Professional
  • UK professional registration (current)
  • Disclosure via DBS check
  • Experience with NHS CHC/NHS FNC/PUPOC frameworks
  • Collaborative problem-solving
