b Overview /b p In this 12-month maternity secondment, you will lead the respiratory pharmacy clinical service within an acute NHS setting. You’ll work with the respiratory MDT to optimise medicines safety and support advanced practice, including biologics, ILD and asthma care. You will shape clinical pharmacy provision on the ward, lead biosimilar switches, and mentor the team while contributing to a wider medicines safety agenda. This role offers impactful, cross-functional work in a forward-thinking Trust. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Health and Wellbeing Hub on-site /li li Award-winning team and culture /li li Opportunities for training and professional development /li li Full annual leave and flexible work arrangements (as per AF) /li li Supportive and proactive environment /li li 28/8 access to resources and modern facilities /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead the provision and development of clinical pharmacy services to respiratory medicine /li li Oversee specialist medicines use and eligibility assessment for new therapies /li li Manage BlueTeq patient additions and coordinate homecare for appropriate patients /li li Provide counselling on biologic/specialist medicines and coordinate repeat prescribing /li li Contribute to annual biologics reviews and support biosimilar uptake and switches /li li Contribute to ILD clinic management and high-risk immunosuppressant/steroid handling /li li Support asthma MDT with medicines optimisation guidance /li li Lead sustainability initiatives for medicines in respiratory care /li li Lead on discharge planning with MDT during admissions and ensure patient counselling /li li Take a lead role in medicines expenditure management and provide reporting to MDT and pharmacy /li li Deliver training and supervision to staff, including pre-regs and pharmacists /li li Ensure compliance with NICE and national guidance and contribute to guideline development /li li Support quality improvement, audits, and governance relating to respiratory medicines /li li Role-model professional supervision and act as Responsible Pharmacist when required /li li Participate in weekend and Bank Holiday rotas as needed /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li M.Pharm in Pharmacy /li li Diploma/MSc Clinical Pharmacy (Desirable) /li li GPhC independent prescriber registration (Desirable) /li li 2 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital pharmacy /li li Experience in a multidisciplinary team including Consultant ward rounds /li li Experience in influencing prescribing costs and quality /li li Experience in service improvement /li li Desirable: experience in respiratory medicine /li /ul ul li Strong communication and influencing skills /li li Leadership and mentoring ability /li li Time management and organisational skills /li li Leadership of medicines optimisation in a clinical setting /li li Formulary management and D TC involvement /li li BlueTeq familiarity for drug entry and commissioning /li /ul
