Overview
Two Consultant obstetrician positions within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will provide daytime obstetric care, participate in on-call rotas, and contribute to service development and governance. The role combines clinical duties with teaching and leadership to enhance maternity care. Responsibilities
- Antental clinic duties and daytime obstetric commitments
- Labor ward sessions and caesarean surgical lists
- On-call coverage (non-resident) and hot week rotation
- Job plan to include governance and teaching roles
- Manage 42-week workload with SPA time and annual appraisal/revalidation
- Contribute to development and running of the department
Key requirements
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
- MBBS or equivalent
- Must be on the specialist register (or within 6 months)
- ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice
- Experience working within NHS
- Ability to manage common obstetric emergencies
- Teaching experience (undergraduate or postgraduate)
- Motivated and enthusiastic team player
- Strong communication and teaching ability
- Commitment to high-quality, compassionate maternity care
