Job summaryWe are looking to recruit a forward thinking, highly motivated and experienced nurse leader who will champion a high level of professional standards and excellence within children's services. This post has become vacant due to the current post holder promotion. The successful applicant with have worked in a leadership role at band 6 or above. Training and development opportunities will be offered and bespoke to individual needs.If you are dedicated to effective leadership, improving standards of care and patient experience as well as being responsible for providing personal, evidence-based care, then this could be the post for you.You should have excellent interpersonal skills and a clear demonstration of the ability to lead a team with passion and enthusiasm. You should have a clear commitment to current developments and initiatives within the paediatric arena and sound knowledge of current issues in the public health agenda.*Please note that this vacancy may require working across both WUTH and WCHC Trusts*Main duties of the jobAs a Ward Manager you will be highly visible and accessible to children, families and staff and will focus on improving the fundamental and essential aspects of family care. The role will be overseeing the children's ward and children's elective care. Training and development opportunities will be offered and bespoke to individual needs.Reporting to the Matron and/or Associate Director of Nursing for Children's and Neonatal Services, the post holder is responsible for and will have a specific focus on visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership, patient experience and the delivery of safe, timely, high quality care.The post holder will support service and quality improvement programmes alongside supporting the operational management of the Division. This includes ensuring efficient and effective use of resources and the development and maintenance of the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.The post holder should have extensive experience of children's nursing and development, able to work clinically with expertise and credibility.
