Lead GPA into its next chapter. General Practice Alliance represents 26 member GP practices across Northamptonshire and delivers a broad range of services supporting primary care and local communities. Following an independent organisational review, GPA is entering an exciting new phase focused on strengthening leadership, improving organisational effectiveness and building long-term sustainability. We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our next Chief Executive Officer - someone who brings people with them, inspires confidence and enjoys turning ideas into action.
A different kind of CEO role. GPA is a small, agile organisation, and this is not a traditional CEO role. We are looking for a leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery - someone who can set direction, build relationships, identify and secure new opportunities, and get involved in making things happen. You'll be comfortable working with leaders, supporting teams, improving services, developing opportunities and solving challenges. You'll bring energy, clarity and momentum, helping GPA continue to evolve and deliver for the practices and communities we serve.

About the Role. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will:
- Provide visible, accountable leadership across GPA.
- Lead the delivery of GPA's next phase of development and improvement.
- Strengthen financial sustainability and identify opportunities for growth.
- Build a high-performing leadership team and support a positive organisational culture.
- Improve performance, governance and service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with member practices, commissioners and system partners.
- Champion innovation and technology to improve how GPA works.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced transformational leader who can lead organisations through change, improvement and growth. You'll bring:
- Significant leadership experience in complex organisations, with a track record of successfully leading change and improvement, with an understanding of the NHS and wider healthcare environment.
- Strong financial and commercial judgement.
- The ability to turn strategy into clear priorities and deliver results.
- Experience building trusted partnerships across the NHS and wider healthcare system.
- A practical approach to using technology and innovation to improve how we work.
- The ability to listen, value different perspectives and adapt, while having the confidence and resilience to challenge and make difficult decisions.
Most importantly, you'll be a visible, approachable and pragmatic leader who builds trust, brings people with you and gets things done.
About us
Why Join GPA? This is a unique opportunity to lead GPA into its next chapter. You'll work alongside an engaged Board, committed member practices and a dedicated workforce who care deeply about the communities we serve. Our ICE values - Innovation, Collaboration and Empower - guide how we work together. We're looking for a CEO who shares these values, creates the conditions for people to thrive and helps GPA build a sustainable and successful future. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, with the support and autonomy to shape the organisation's future.
