Overview
As Associate Director of Corporate Nursing and Professional Standards, you will provide strategic leadership for nursing standards, governance, safeguarding, workforce development and quality assurance across the Trust. You’ll work with senior leaders to shape professional frameworks and assurance processes, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of learning and staff engagement. You will bring senior nursing leadership, offer credible professional advice, and drive safe, effective, and compassionate care across our communities. This role offers the chance to influence nursing practice at scale within a large NHS foundation trust.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for nursing professional standards, governance, safeguarding, workforce development and quality assurance across the Trust
- Lead development of professional frameworks, policies and assurance processes with regulatory compliance
- Offer expert professional advice and assurance to senior leaders, the Board and external partners
- Foster a positive culture of learning, improvement and staff engagement
- Oversee professional registration and standards matters and lead organisational improvement initiatives
Key requirements
- NMC registration
- Significant post-qualification professional development including advanced leadership and practice
- Master's level professional qualification or equivalent in leadership/management
- Significant senior leadership experience in nursing
- Experience in professional governance, quality and safety improvement, incidents/claims handling and learning reviews
- Knowledge of national and local health policy, quality and clinical governance frameworks in NHS contexts
