Overview
In this full-time Consultant Cardiologist role you will join a growing cardiology team to support the expansion of hospital services. You’ll work within a modern Cardiology Unit and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver comprehensive diagnostic and treatment options. You will lead inpatient care, guide trainees, and contribute to governance and evidence-based practice. The position offers an opportunity to shape service development and patient care at Countess of Chester Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Ward rounds for inpatients with daily inreach to AMU for cardiac patients
- Review and advise on management of inpatients referred by other specialists
- Deliver specialist Cardiology clinics
- Utilise diagnostic imaging including CTCA, TOE and Stress Echo
- Train Core and Specialty Trainees, Foundation doctors; develop Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Specialty Doctors
- Supervise audit projects and CME; participate in weekly and monthly meetings
- Develop and promote evidence-based practice and guidelines; contribute to Clinical Governance
- Engage in multi-disciplinary team leadership and management activities
- Perform other appropriate duties as required
Key requirements
- MRCP
- CCST/CCT in Cardiology within 6 months of interview
- CESR or European Community Rights
- Registered on the GMC Specialist Register
