Overview
In this role you will work as an autonomous practitioner delivering high-quality, patient-centred medical care within a well-established general practice. You will join a collaborative MDT and contribute to continuous improvement while managing a variable workload, including on-call duties and several clinic sessions per week. The position offers professional development and a chance to shape local care delivery in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver highly effective medical care to the practice population
- Provide services aligned with the primary care contract
- Prescribe generically following local and national guidance
- Manage long-term conditions effectively
- Handle administrative tasks including referrals and prescriptions
- Rotational telephone triage and duty doctor roles
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Collaborate with the team and share workload
- Follow clinical guidelines and participate in audits
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Accept delegated responsibilities (QOF)
- Attend and contribute to practice meetings
- Support clinical governance and training
- Ensure appraisal and revalidation processes are completed
- Promote continuing professional development across the team
- Support training of medical students
- Assist partners in achieving strategic aims and managing income/expenditure
- Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies
- Encourage collaborative working across staff
Key requirements
- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- General understanding of the primary care contract
- Qualified GP
- MRCGP
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Disclosure and Barring Service check (to be submitted)
- Collaborative working with multidisciplinary team
