Job summaryReporting to the Project Director of Major Capital Programmes, you will be responsible for directing and leading the delivery of complex major capital programmes of strategic importance to the Trust to time and within budget.
The postholder will exercise a high degree of professional autonomy and judgement in managing multiple interdependent workstreams, ensuring delivery of agreed outcomes relating to quality, cost, timescales and benefits realisation.
You will work with Executive Directors, Divisional Directors, senior clinicians, corporate leads, system partners and external stakeholders to deliver the planning, design, implementation and successful delivery of large capital programmes.
The postholder will provide expert programme leadership and specialist advice regarding capital investment, programme governance, strategic risks and delivery options.
You will oversee significant capital budgets of up to 10 million and provide leadership to the staff working on the project, ensuring team behaviours reflect the Trust's values at all times.
Main duties of the jobResponsible for leading the delivery of major capital projects and programmes to agreed quality, financial and performance objectives.
Accountable for delivery of complex capital programmes involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and significant organisational risk.
Responsible for developing and securing approval of all relevant business cases including Strategic Outline Cases (SOC), Outline Business Cases (OBC) and Full Business Cases (FBC).Ensure business cases are compliant with HM Treasury Green Book methodology, NHS England Better Business Cases guidance and capital investment requirements.
Responsible for the design of the engagement plan with staff and patients to ensure that their needs are appropriately reflected in the delivery of the programme.
Responsible for ensuring that the Trust is appropriately advised on relevant regulatory matters and ensure the new developments are compliant with all relevant legislation.
Responsible for establishing benefits realisation frameworks and ensuring capital investments deliver measurable improvements in clinical outcomes, operational performance, patient experience and financial sustainability.
