Overview
In this Estates role, you will lead the discipline across all tasks, including work allocation, procurement, contractor oversight, and safety. You’ll support projects from the start, ensuring delivery and compliance while acting as an authorised person in two disciplines. You’ll drive effective communication with clinical colleagues and maintain CPD to enhance expertise. This is a pivotal position within a large NHS trust focused on patient experience, safety, and smooth estates operations.

Responsibilities
- Manage individuals within your discipline and coordinate work across teams
- Oversee procurement, materials, access requirements, service impacts, and contractor sign-offs
- Appoint contractors, write specifications, and perform quality/clerks of works activities
- Ensure health and safety for staff, contractors, and visitors in the working environment
- Support project teams by assisting in specification, planning and delivery assessment
- Operate as authorised person in two disciplines and manage related duties
- Maintain effective communication with service/clinical colleagues and stakeholders
- Utilise departmental systems to report compliance, work status, and budget projections
- Ensure adequate materials and resources for planned workloads
- Prioritise work activity using information and evidence to support decision making
- Pursue continuous professional development and participate in required training
Key requirements
- Experience in building engineering services, specifically Mechanical or Electrical (desirable)
- Experience managing contractors and delivering quality oversight
- Knowledge of compliance, budgeting, and reporting within an estate/development context
- Ability to be an authorised person in two disciplines (as required)
