Ongar Health Centre is looking for a motivated and experienced clinical pharmacist to join our friendly and supportive team on a full-time basis.
Main duties of the job:
- Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients
- Undertake structured medication reviews and medicines reconciliation
- Act as an independent prescriber to manage and optimise patient treatment plans
- Support safe, cost-effective prescribing in line with local and national guidance
- Manage long-term conditions and contribute to chronic disease management
- Respond to medication queries from patients and clinical staff
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team
- Support quality improvement and prescribing audit initiatives

Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- GPhC registered pharmacist
- Hold the GPhC independent prescribing qualification
Experience:
- An appreciation of the nature of GPs and general practice
- An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing
- Experience and awareness of common acute and chronic conditions that are likely to be seen in general practice
- Excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner
- Work in a polite, confidential, and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times
- Confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently
- Strong IT and administration skills
- Previous experience of SystmOne clinical system is desirable but not essential as training will be given
