Overview
In this role you support the Central Production Unit to prepare fresh meals for patients, staff and visitors, and you also back on-site catering for hospital services and staff dining.
You will work with the kitchen team to ensure high standards and food safety while expanding your cooking skills.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of meals for patients, staff, visitors and external sites according to standard recipes
- Follow policies for receipt, storage, and quality control of goods
- Record cooking and chilling temperatures and report non-conformities
- Adhere to food safety standards for raw materials, ingredients, and finished products
- Assist with labelling, portioning and packaging of food
- Maintain clean, hygienic workstations and prepare areas, in line with the Food Safety Management System
- Observe hygiene codes and maintain high personal hygiene standards
- Support kitchen staff in ensuring food availability and service quality
- Operate and report any equipment defects; follow sickness/leave procedures
- Take guidance from trained staff to ensure best practice; attend mandatory training

- Allergen Awareness
- Catering/Food Service experience (minimum 1 year)
- Experience with industrial cooking and cleaning equipment
