Overview
In this role you will provide senior clinical expertise to the Older Adults Community Treatment team in North Cumbria, focusing on complex mental health conditions and at-risk states. You will work with a multidisciplinary group to ensure safe transitions with other services, and contribute to age-related mental health care in a community setting. The post supports a flexible plan with protected SPA time and opportunities for teaching, leadership, and service development within CNTW. This role offers a chance to influence regional old-age psychiatry services and collaborate on innovative hubs and medical education initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Engage in assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of referrals to the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service
- Deliver high-quality clinical care within a multidisciplinary community/ inpatient framework
- Support safety, dignity, and culturally appropriate care for patients and families
- Collaborate with agencies and carers to optimise patient outcomes
- Contribute to service development and changes within the region (e.g., 24/7 hub, medical education initiatives)
- Attend meetings to review and adjust the job plan and objectives
- Provide leadership and supervision within the clinical team as appropriate
Key requirements
- MBBS (or equivalent) with GMC registration (or eligible) and licence to practise
- Approved Clinician status or working towards AC within six months
- Experience and capability in leadership within a multidisciplinary setting
- Wide clinical psychiatry experience across settings
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, MCA, and clinical risk management
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage complex, unfamiliar situations
- MRCPsych or equivalent desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications and educational supervision training desirable
