You will join us at an exciting time following the opening of our new 15M, 5 room, State of the Art, JAG accredited Endoscopy Suite. Main duties of the jobWe are looking for committed Doctors to become an integral part of the GI team. The post holder will provide dedicated colonoscopic screening lists and together with their gastroenterology colleagues will contribute to inpatient and outpatient care. The gastroenterology consultant team share the responsibility of "Consultant of the Week" on a rotational basis to cover the GI inpatient work and contribute to the GI bleed rota. The team is supported by deanery trainees, Trust doctors and specialist nurses.We are passionate about teaching, and you will be able to play your part in teaching the next generation of doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals. You will have the opportunity to provide endoscopy training locally and to contribute to NETA - The Northern Endoscopy Training Academy. If you are a new consultant, you will be asked to enrol on an educational supervisor accredited course by our medical education department. We have a growing experience and have been at the forefront of teaching and implementation of Physician Associate and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
