In this role you support the Head Chef to deliver hotel/service-level dining using fresh, seasonal ingredients while promoting a better work–life balance. You tailor nutritious menus to residents, help maintain high standards, and foster a warm, welcoming kitchen environment. Responsibilities
- Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
- Assist in menu development and tailoring to residents
- Work with fresh seasonal produce to deliver high-quality dishes
- Maintain budgets and control stock
- Create a warm, efficient, and fun kitchen environment
- Complete regular audits and ensure HACCP compliance
- Engage with residents to explain and refine menus
Key requirements
- Personable and warm approach with genuine interest in resident wellbeing
- Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
- Good understanding of nutrition
- Experience with fresh seasonal food
- Ability to create a welcoming environment in the home
- Confidence engaging with residents to develop appetising menus
