In this role you will lead the operations for Planned Care, Cancer and Diagnostics, driving recovery and longer-term transformation toward sustainability. You will partner with Clinical Boards to align delivery with board strategies and ensure engagement across staff. The role focuses on cross-organisational change, quality and safety, and improving patient experience. This is a high-impact position within a large NHS trust working to deliver ambitious service improvements and a sustainable future.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of Planned Care, Cancer and Diagnostic delivery and alignment with national, regional and local strategies
- Drive transformation and implementation of recovery plans
- Lead cross-organisation projects and change initiatives supporting UHB objectives
- Engage Clinical Boards and staff to deliver strategies and improvements
- Collaborate with senior leaders to build capacity and resilience within services
Key requirements
- Masters level or equivalent professional qualification
- Postgraduate management qualification
- In-depth knowledge of General Management, Financial Management, Business Planning, Clinical Strategies and Performance Management
- Extensive NHS experience and understanding of NHS patient agenda
- Experience in leading teams, managing budgets, and implementing change projects
- Strong strategic leadership and communication skills
- IT literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Credible in dealing with clinicians and senior management
