Overview
In this Consultant role, you will contribute to shaping the strategy for Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology within the health board. You will work closely with the dental hospital teams and Head and Neck Radiology to deliver expert opinions on conventional radiographs and CBCT imaging. The position blends clinical radiology with teaching, governance, and potential research, within a large, teaching-focused health board.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist opinion on conventional dental radiographs
- Provide radiological reports on CBCT imaging
- Provide specialist dental imaging
- Collaborate with dental specialties and Head and Neck Radiology team
- Engage in clinical governance, audit, and teaching activities
Key requirements
- Full Registration with the General Dental Council
- On Specialist Register for Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (DMFR) / DMFR Specialty Registrar with CCST due within 6 months of interview date
- Desirable: MFDS/MJDF or equivalent
- Desirable: postgraduate education/dental education qualification
- Desirable: postgraduate research degree
- Desirable: completed specialist training programme in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology
- Experience in conventional radiography, CBCT, Ultrasound, Sialography
- Experience in diagnostic sialography and head/neck ultrasound
- Clinical governance and audit participation
- Teaching experience with medical/dental students and residents
- English proficiency and IT skills
