Overview
As a Band 6 Emergency Liaison Practitioner, you will deliver rapid, evidence-based CAMHS emergency assessments and follow-up with young people and families.
You will work within the multi-disciplinary S-CAMHS Emergency Liaison Team to prevent suicide and manage psychiatric risk, across out-of-hours and weekend needs.
You’ll respond to professional queries via our consultation line and collaborate with agencies to provide person-centred care.
This role supports the CAMHS Emergency Pathway and integrates with crisis and engagement teams to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive CAMHS emergency assessments with families
- Respond to professional consultation calls via CAMHS line
- Provide follow-up care for youths in extreme psychological distress
- Work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency environment
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Operate out-of-hours and weekends according to service needs
- Collaborate with Crisis Outreach Team and ISET within the CAMHS Emergency Pathway
- Key requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse/Social Worker AMP
- CAMHS-specific modules (CBT, Family Therapy, psychotherapy, psychosocial interventions)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience at Band 5 with supervision/leadership of juniors
- Experience in multi-disciplinary teams and service audits
- Knowledge of CAMHS assessments, risk formulation (WARRN) and risk management
- Awareness of Mental Health Act and Children’s Act
- Current UK professional registration
- Effective verbal communication with service users and colleagues
