Overview

In this Clinical Lead CAMHS role, you will provide professional leadership and expert guidance across three community CAMHS teams. You will support complex case management, develop clinical pathways and ensure high-quality, safe care for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health needs and neurodiversity/learning disability complexities. You’ll supervise teams, lead risk assessment, and foster collaboration with partner services to improve pathways and discharge planning. Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, support and supervision to clinical staff
  • Advise on management of complex clinical cases for an identified team
  • Carry a small complex caseload as part of the CAMHS service
  • Participate in extended working hours as required
  • Lead structured clinical supervision and develop team confidence in handling complex issues
  • Ensure thorough assessments and active lead case management
  • Support consistency and quality of care and timely discharge
  • Promote safe transitions in and out of CAMHS
  • Foster collaboration with other agencies/partnerships
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical standards to ensure high-quality care
  • Be a visible, proactive clinical leader and role model
  • Lead on debriefs after incidents and risk management discussions

Key requirements

  • Registered professional Nursing/Social Work/Occupational Therapist
  • Relevant degree/diploma with post-registration training; master’s level desirable
  • Significant leadership experience with staff/teams
  • Experience in managing complex resources and driving service improvements
  • Evidence of clinical decision-making accountability and strong documentation
  • Competence with CPA documentation and high standards of practice
  • Experience in risk management and improving care quality
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • IT systems proficiency and ability to support team in a clinical setting
  • Willingness to travel between Trust sites
