As our BI & Reporting Analyst, you'll sit within the Data Team and be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality reporting solutions using Power BI and modern Microsoft data technologies. Working alongside Data Engineers and Data Architects, you'll help create a trusted reporting environment that enables stakeholders across clinical, operational, commercial and executive teams to access reliable, decision-ready insights. You'll champion self-service analytics, and help establish a single source of truth across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • Design, build and maintain engaging Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations.
  • Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain semantic models and support a consistent, governed reporting environment.
  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities and actionable insights.
  • Work closely with business teams to improve reporting consistency and data literacy.
  • Monitor and optimise Power BI performance, refresh processes and report usability.
  • Support data quality initiatives and ensure robust reporting standards are maintained.
  • Contribute to NHS statutory reporting processes and help provide resilience within the wider data team.
  • Drive adoption of self-service analytics through training, guidance and stakeholder engagement.

What We're Looking For

  • Microsoft Power BI expertise, including report development, dashboard design and DAX.
  • PL-300 certification (or equivalent Microsoft Power BI certification).
  • Strong understanding of semantic models, tabular models and dimensional modelling (star schema).
  • Solid SQL skills for data exploration, validation and analysis.
  • Experience delivering reporting solutions for operational, commercial and executive audiences.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple business systems into a consistent reporting environment.
