We have an exceptional opportunity for an inspiring individual to become the Executive Director of Finance and join us at a critical time of reform within the NHS, as the role of Integrated Care Boards undergoes significant change. You will be accountable for ensuring the ICB has a coherent and well-managed approach to finance, contracting and procurement, and business planning and delivery, supported by effective and efficient finances used in support of quality, safety and improved outcomes.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Qualified accountant with full membership and evidence of up-to-date continuing professional development.
  • Extensive knowledge of the health, care and local government landscape and an understanding of the resourcing implications related to the social determinants of public health.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and care financial planning and budgeting, including approaches to incentives in support of quality.
  • A strong commitment to patient care and quality services, improving outcomes, tackling health inequalities, and delivering the best value for money for the taxpayer.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to cope under pressure.
  • Team player committed to open collegiate relationships and corporate effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates a compassionate and inclusive leadership style with a track record of improvements to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Substantial Board level leadership experience and system leadership experience within a regulatory or similar environment.
  • Experience of providing financial leadership, mentorship, and professional development at a very senior level with demonstrable outcomes.
