Overview
In this role you will establish and lead the cancer care ambulatory service within the oncology/haematology remit. You will assess and treat patients across cancer pathways, supporting inpatient and SDEC services to reduce admissions. You will provide clinical leadership to the ambulatory nursing team and work with the directorate to prioritise workloads. The role blends advanced clinical decision-making with service development in a values-based NHS Trust. You will contribute to transforming cancer care delivery at UHD and drive high-quality, evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage complete episodes of care in collaboration with consultants, delegating and referring as appropriate
- Ensure timely, effective management and optimise health outcomes according to evidence-based best practice
- Lead the ACP service to deliver high-quality performance and financial frameworks
- Promote service development and redesign across disciplines in line with current best practice
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate specialist education and development programs for individuals and the wider multidisciplinary team
